Warm UK Weather Finally on the Horizon – Casual Footwear

We’ve heard a tip off from the people at BBC Weather that its going to finally start to be warmer around the UK, with this week signalling the end of the wet May weather. We’re really hoping that they’re right as we’ve seen far too much of everyone in jackets, scarves and hats so far in 2012. The rest of May and start of June will hopefully signify the warming up of the weather, just in time for the Queens jubilee, and if you’re lucky enough, a four day weekend. With plenty of parties scheduled as well as the usual bank holiday weekend day trips, all day drinking and those amazing barbeques we realise that you’ll need some brand new warm weather clothing and footwear for the occasion. There is nothing better than spending the day in the sunshine wearing your brand new flip flops, canvas shoes or trainers with shorts, chinos and a smart polo shirt or casual t shirt.

So far we’ve not had a great chance to shout about our summer clothing but now we can really bring you our top summer brands such as Havaianas, Flossy, We Are Saints, Fred Perry, Lacoste, Original Penguin, Adidas Originals and that’s just the footwear! Starting from the feet this year you’ve still got the choice of flip flops or canvas shoes with the odd pair of deck shoes from Sperry Topsiders thrown in there for good measure. If you’re looking for something casual for the warm weather then this year then Mainline Menswear is the place for you. This year we’re taking lead from the Mediterranean countries as well as the Balearics and have added Flossy Style plimsolls alongside last years best selling We Are Saints espadrilles and the ever popular Havaianas flip flops. Add to this the summer footwear offering from the top brands at Mainline Menswear and before long you’ve got a choice of well over 100 pairs of summer shoes and footwear.

This summer we recommend that you check out our Fred Perry footwear, as their canvas plimsolls and slip on trainers look absolutely amazing. Available in a variety of colours these should be your number one choice for the summer, and in the process you’ll be supporting a top British clothing brand. Enjoy!

Blood Brother Collaboration Set to Hit Mainline Menswear

It’s all go at Mainline Menswear at the moment with a steady stream of events happening on the website. Firstly we started to have the autumn winter 2012 preview collections delivered from the top brands including G Star, Luke 1977, Humor, Original Penguin and Fred Perry. This has seen some new styles added to the site that will bridge the gap between late summer and autumn. We then had the launch of the mobile site last week that has seen shoppers using Mainline Menswear much more on the go. Faster browsing and simple ordering processes mean that you can buy on the bus, in the car or at work, it really has been made that easy. Finally we’ve had an amazing collaboration given to us that has been kept under wraps for the last couple of weeks; however we can finally announce it to fans of Mainline Menswear and Blood Brother t shirts.

’10 Foot Wave’ is a brand new collaboration between Blood Brother t shirts and Fat Willy’s Surf Shack from Cornwall. The amazing collection has been inspired by extreme thinking while chasing the big waves and the best raves. Fat Willy’s is known for being at the forefront of the late 80s and early 90s British surf scene in Newquay, Cornwall and carries with it a very distinct and colourful design history which is still as popular today in the right circles as it was during the 1990s. Boasting three shops in Cornwall Fat Willies have teamed up with relative fashion newcomers Blood Brother to create a range of tees for the old school and new breed of thrill seeker.

With eight brand new t shirts in the collection that carry new and eye catching slogans and designs such as ‘Young, Angry & Poor’, ‘1991 Love Song’, ‘Tick Tick Boom’, 'Never Alone' and ‘Riding With Fat Willy’s Surf Shack’. Add to this a variety of graphical vests and the collaboration is expected to catch the eye of many surfers, Blood Brother fans and fashionable lads around the UK. To further enhance the exposure of both Blood Brother and Fat Willy’s Surf Shack the range will even be found in next months GQ magazine, plus a wide variety of other top blogs, magazines and fashion websites.

So, where can you get these amazing t shirts and vests? The answer – online at Mainline Menswear. We’re one of only three UK retailers to be carrying this phenomenal range of collaborative t shirts. So if you fancy owning a bit of clothing history for both of the brands, or simply like the designs then head over to Mainline Menswear where the '10 Foot Wave' Blood Brother x Fat Willy’s Surf Shack t shirts will be live online tomorrow in time for this weekend.

Want to be the first to know when they’re available? Join Mainline Menswear on Facebook, as their arrival will be announced there first as an exclusive.

Prepare for the British Rainy Day at Mainline Menswear

The rainy season just seems to be going on and on, yet we keep willing the sun to come out around the UK here at Mainline Menswear. We’ve brought you the best flip flops from Havaianas, the hottest plimsolls and canvas shoes from Flossy and We Are Saints and a massive range of shorts from a variety of the 100+ brands that we have available on the Mainline Menswear website. So we figured that if you can’t make the rain disappear we’d simply bring you the best range jackets to continue looking on trend while keeping dry in the very British summer showers. Someone in the buying team must have known that there was going to be some rain this summer as we’ve got an amazing range of lightweight windbreakers, rain coats and generally great jackets from some of the most popular brands on the site.

If you’ve picked up the latest copy of FHM then you’ll possibly have noticed the amazing Lavenham Holbrook jacket on page 113. We have this exact jacket in stock in an eye catching green or red and priced at £149. With a full front zip, hood, drawstring waist and flap covered pockets this wind cheater rain mac is perfect for the British summer, and to top it off comes from a top British outdoor clothing and equipment brand and is made in England. Shop from this range of Lavenham jackets if you’re out and about town or planning on hitting festivals this summer as its ideal to thrown over the top of your t shirt and shorts when the dark clouds appear plus if FHM are championing the look its well worth a browse.

Another great rain coat for the British summer comes from the German designer sportswear giants Adidas Originals and their blue collection. Slightly longer than your waist this jacket will give you that little bit extra cover from the rain, and will just leave your shorts poking out of the bottom. Described as being ‘bluebird blue’ with a full zip front with a hood and large zip pockets on the hips give this jacket a very simply yet effective design. Priced at £120 it is a little higher priced than usual Adidas Originals jackets, however this rain mac is from the slightly more premium blue range.

The final focus design comes from One True Saxon, who will sadly no longer be producing their clothing after this current summer season. If you’re a fan of the brand there has never been a better time to snap up your favourite pieces as there won’t be any more produced for at least the winter 2012 season. We’ve picked the hooded Brunwine jacket to compliment the other two focus jackets perfectly. Available in khaki green the jacket is made from cotton and is unlined to provide that slightly thinner layer than you need on a wet but warm summers evening. Drawstring hood, four front pockets full dual end zip and adjustable cuffs give the brand that timeless feel and ensure that this should be bought as one of your staple summer jackets.

Checking out the other displayed jackets will take you on a journey through Lyle and Scott shell jackets, Lacoste blouson jackets, Penfield windbreakers, Armani EA7 lightweight rain jackets and the signature Luke 1977 hooded zip top. Each brings a variety of colour to the British summer while offering different designs, prices and brands for the fashion conscious male in the UK. Mainline Menswear is ready and waiting to kit you out this summer whether it is warm or wet weather clothing and footwear we’ve got a little bit of something for everyone. Head over to Mainline Menswear now and kit yourself out for every eventuality including some of the best British festivals now.

Your Last Chance to Win £500 at Mainline Menswear

The £500 shopping spree competition at Mainline Menswear closes at midnight tonight meaning that you only have a few hours left to make sure that yourself, your friends and family have all entered your details to be in with a chance of winning. Just think how far £500 could go when you’re browsing this season’s brands and collections. You’ll easily get a couple of outfits from your winnings, so to highlight how much you can get for £500 we asked our fans on Facebook to put more outfits together for us and we’ll pick the best four. They were then photographed and the public had the weekend to vote on their favourite outfit. This week we’ve got some top ideas and styles with our product entry team again providing the descriptions.

Outfit 1 was chosen by Collins Odhiambo and is described as “An urban street-wear style which is created by the choice of G-Star Arc 3D Loose Tapered jeans offering the alternative look of braces and the rugged outdoor Timberland Euro Sprint boots which are perfect for the City life. A skeletal hand print design featured on the Firetrap Bird t shirt adds a dark edge to the look with a plain black Hugo Boss Orange Zwii button up jumper to finish the look.”

Outfit 2 was carefully put together by Filip Ronander and showed “A very dapper, spring summer look perfect for days out in the pub where a smart, yet casual and comfortable outfit is required. Striking and eye-catching the vibrant yellow Ralph Lauren V neck jumper teams well with a Lyle and Scott Oxford shirt showing a good contrast of colour. Plain navy Mercer chinos from Tommy Hilfiger and H By Hudson Kanter grey suede brogues combine to give an overall classic style.”

Outfit 3 was selected by Wojtek Eijsink and gave “a nice contrast from outfit 2, this outfit wants to be part of the spring summer season with the Lacoste blue and white gingham shirt and Lyle and Scott white canvas plimsolls, but the layers want to hide it away until the sun comes out. A grey Fred Perry shawl collar cardigan enables the blue check design to be noticed while the Ralph Lauren Windbreaker jacket provides protection from the wet, dreary weather we are currently experiencing.”

The final look, Outfit 4 was styled by Dom Turner and has been depicted as “A good collection of some of our premium brands chosen for this outfit which have created a versatile outfit for everyday wear, whether it be lounging around, travelling or shopping. Armani J21 jeans provide a regular, comfortable fit, teamed with Cruyff Classic Pep trainers and a Stone Island hoodie which is a breathable, soft cotton sweater fabric. This outfit has been accessorised with a pair of rectangular Ralph Lauren silver metal frame sunglasses adding a smart, spring summer touch.”

As you can see each outfit is a little more covered up this week which is probably a pointer towards the very wet weather that we’re experiencing in the UK. Again a great selection of brands have been styled together with a few looks that even the buyers at Mainline Menswear gave an appreciative and well dressed nod of approval to. If you fancy a go at this but missed out check Facebook in midweek to find our theme for the week and then get styling, nothing is dismissed or out of bounds, just as long as its on Mainline Menswear. Don’t forget to enter the Mainline Menswear £500 shopping spree competition, and if you already then cross your fingers! Good luck.
