Designer Winter Boots – This Seasons Must Have Footwear

Last year in October we highlighted that designer boots would be a great addition to people’s wardrobes for last winter with Timberland, Nicholas Deakins, Red Wing and G Star all offering some superb winter leather boots that would keep feet warm and dry from the snow and rain. You had your eco-friendly Earthkeepers from Timberland, your fashion forward vibram sole units from Nicholas Deakins and all round quality, craftsmanship and style from American footwear brand Red Wing.

This year hasn’t changed much, but the emphasis and the amount of brands that are now producing some amazing boots for autumn winter 11 has easily doubled, if not tripled. This season sees the introduction of brogue boots, as well as an explosion of white vibram sole units, offering lightweight yet very technical soles for the fashion conscious. Then there is the small matter of the brands involved. You’re not to be confined to four brands on Mainline Menswear this year as the inclusion of Ralph Lauren, H by Hudson, Lacoste, Paul Smith, Native and Sperry Topsider has seen styles of boots increase rapidly. Styles include fur lined boots, brogue boots, leather and rubber hiking boots, ankle boots, calf boots, military styles boots and even some really impressive wellington boots. The boots are made from a large variety of leathers, suede, rubber and the occasional panel of canvas and can be found in a few colours, with the popular colour this season appearing to be various shades of brown. Price also plays an important part in the purchasing process, so expect to be parting with between £100 and £250 depending on which brand and style you are looking for.

In terms of fashion and style you need to be wearing your brown leather, vibram sole hiking boots with a pair of jeans or chinos. There are a couple of options for the season, where the trend setters will have the hems of their jeans or chinos rolled up or tucked into their chunky knit outdoor socks while the regular folk among us will have a simple pair of straight leg jeans over the tops of the boots. Tapered jeans can again be worn tucked into the boots, however with the weather and snow expected to be bad again fashion seems to have taken a leaf from the ramblers and is seeing laces tied up and fastened securely as part of the trend. Up top its pretty same old with duffle coats and knitwear for the cold days, parka jackets and Penfield outdoor jackets for the wet days and the occasional gilet and either hoodie or knitwear for the changeable autumn days, giving you plenty of options to look great this winter. As always the quilted jacket is a big must, so look into the Belstaff jackets and Lavenham for the quilts.

Mainline Menswear really does have winter fashion covered this season, and will be keeping you super warm and on trend. So yes, this may seem a little crazy as you look out of your window and see the sun in the sky, but think back to last year, and how quickly it all turned nasty and get your autumn winter wardrobe on order, as remember – failing to prepare is preparing to fail!
