MOD Fashion Still Lives On 32 Years after Quadrophenia

When you look at the collections that the top British brands have launched this season you see the obvious outdoor trend, with the thick knits, the jumpers, winter outdoor jackets and chinos. If you look a little more specific especially in the Pretty Green brand, and into another couple of collections you’ll see a distinct MOD fashion trend. This is interesting that 32 years after the MOD film Quadrophenia was released, and a few days before the blu-ray launch of the film you can still easily find designer parkas, checked shirts, Harrington jackets, slim fitting jeans and desert boots.

Parka jackets are big business this season with twenty different designs, colours and prices available from the top designer names including Lyle and Scott, Pretty Green, Fred Perry and G Star. You can find the parka coats in the basic black, navy and grey as well as the autumn winter seasons on trend shades of green or khaki. The most popular parka jackets this year have to be either the fur lined hood version in black from Liam Gallagher’s brand Pretty Green or the MOD favourite Fred Perry and their green down filled parka, adding that extra bit of warmth into the winter fashion. In terms of checked shirts you’ll find over 200 of them available at Mainline Menswear from a massive range of brands including Fred Perry, Humor, Replay and Original Penguin. Some will just be a quite standard checked shirt while others will have adopted the button collar design, so if you’re looking for additional details then check for this, as they look spot on with v neck jumpers and jackets.

Recent addition to Mainline Menswear Clarks Originals are another favourite brand and follow on from the success of the Clarks and Pretty Green collaborated desert boots that were online last winter. With a brogue, desert boot, wallabee and weaver style of shoes and boots available these are great design that will add something that little ‘smart casual’ to an outfit this winter. So if you’re a fan of the film, the fashion or simply like checked shirts and parkas then Mainline Menswear is a great place to be at the moment. Visit the site and start adding bits and pieces to your designer wardrobe now.
