Top 5 Winter Coats at Mainline Menswear

This winter there are well over 500 jacket and winter coat designs on Mainline Menswear with pretty much every single clothing brand offering a winter warming coat or jacket to combat the weather that is set to hit the country in the next two or three months. With a major variety of brands available on the site and a price bracket to suit every budget and every age you really have no excuse to not wrap up warm this winter. As there is such a huge selection to choose from I decided to bring you five of the best winter coats that we have online at the moment. This will cover five key styles of coat for Christmas and highlight five top brands in the process. So let’s start with an obvious one…

Superdry sells millions of these coats every single season. They have many uses including school jacket, fashionable windbreaker to be out and about in, it can be worn to the football, down the shops and will withstand showers, snow and wind. Mesh lined to help it breathe with multiple zips, pockets, a high collar, thumb holes by the cuffs and a super popular brand name Superdry really have this nailed on each season. Obviously as we’re now in winter it’s a thicker jacket with ribbed collar and cuffs to keep more heat inside the coat. Grab this coat in black, navy or grey this winter and increase the warmth with a tonal hat and scarf set that can be found from similar brands G Star, Adidas Originals or Original Penguin. Priced at just £73 this is the cheapest of the five coats that we’ll bring you today and is possibly the most versatile. If your son (aged from 12/13 though to twenty something) needs a new school coat and wants to impress his friends then this is the coat for him.

Next in the chain of price and style we spotlight another British brand that has a huge history and heritage in the game of tennis. Fred Perry was a top tennis player, and now his name lives on in the fashion world, with his brand being a really popular one on Mainline Menswear over the past two or three seasons. Last winter their mountain parka jacket sold out numerous times over in both khaki green and black, so this season its back in online and priced at £132. With a full button and zip front, large pouch pockets, adjustable cuffs, drawstring hood and waist and a very on trend ‘mac’ look and feel to the coat its set to again be an amazing addition to anyone’s wardrobe. Mix this with beige chinos and boots for a maximum style effect or add some warmth to it with a chunky knitted jumper, hat and scarf from Fred Perry or other tops names such as Lacoste or Diesel.

The midway point in the review comes from top American outdoor brand and Mainline Menswear customer favourite Penfield. Brand new to the site last winter Penfield absolutely destroyed the competition and had their jacket designs featured absolutely everywhere. This year is no different, and Mainline Menswear is more than prepared for the mad rush to grab something warm when the rain, frost and snow come. Their main focus jacket or key piece in terms of popularity is the Penfield Kasson jacket. Priced somewhere between £140 and £200 depending on which style and how much detail you’re looking for this jacket is set to be a bestseller in the next two months. Our favourite has to be the tweed design that has been launched slightly later than the others. Designed to match the Sperry x Penfield footwear collaboration this winter coat has everything and provides amazing value for money. Zip and button front fastening with two metal clips near the neck, multiple front pockets, drawstring waist and hood with a peak, adjustable cuffs and signature embossed leather patch Penfield logo on the left sleeve are just the obvious design features. The interior is fully lined so this coat is perfect for all weather and all occasions. Available in black or khaki green with herringbone tweed design this coat is a must have for the trend setters, and the black version can be matched with the Sperry Shipyard Rugger black and tweed boots for that extra winter look.

No jacket or coat review could be complete without a quilted jacket or a Belstaff jacket, so we brought you both in one. Super popular last winter among the quilted jacket wearing British public these are great as autumn warmers and can even be matched with a much bigger winter coat to add that extra layer of warmth. This year Belstaff have added a black square quilted jacket in alongside their popular and iconic wax coated and leather jackets, so the brand really can offer you the on trend designs, however their quality and craftsmanship come at a price, with this quilted coat the cheapest option at £219. Full press stud front closing, two press stud pouch pockets and Belstaff logo on the sleeve it’s a basic and timeless classic that will feature on the backs of many men around the UK and Europe in the next four or five months depending on the weather.

Last but by no means least is the trusty duffle coat from British favourites Gloverall. The duffle coat has been a fashion and military favourite for many years now, and has really made a reappearance in the last few winters. Available in a variety of colours, designs and lengths the Gloverall duffle coat is a timeless classic that can be worn smart or casually and will keep you really warm thanks to the thick knitted wool and nylon materials used in today’s designs. Expect to pay between £200 and £300 for a Gloverall coat which is the most expensive of the five coats reviewed, however is the least trend changing coat so is an investment opposed to a purchase.

So there you have it, the five top designs at Mainline Menswear this winter, and that is obviously without including some other top coat brands such as Stone Island, Napapijri, G Star, Henri Lloyd, Luke 1977 and Lyle and Scott. So if you’re looking for a brand new winter coat, the best place to be in a one stop shop style is Mainline Menswear. We’re looking forward to seeing you!
